Finally, I am posting again. I have been so neglectful of my posts lately that I haven't even posted about your second birthday yet! How did I let that happen. It certainly was on my list last weekend, but I still didn't get it done.
So here goes....you had a wonderful time at your birthday party last Saturday afternoon...let's see, that was on the 13th. Mommy and Daddy invited all the family plus Uncle Brady and Aunt Jenn. Oh and Uncle Hank was there too. Your cousin Daniel was there and you were so excited when he finally got to your house. Your Nana and PawPaw and Uncle Jason had already been there a while and you were having a big time. It took a little while for you and Daniel to start playing together, but once you finished opening all your presents, you began to play and have a good time. You were very gracious when Daniel wanted to play with some of your favorite balls and toys, and you didn't give fuss when he took something away from you. That was pretty sweet I thought.
You loved your cake and loved when we sang happy birthday...you just beamed and thought that was the greatest thing. And you even knew how to blow out your candles! After you ate your cake, you opened all your presents and then you gave the longest, cutest thank you speech I have ever heard. When we all clapped after your speech, you just kept on thanking us all for the presents to get us to clap and yell again. Daddy got it all on video, and I would love to see that. You and Daniel played with the toys and ran around until you were both so tired you needed to settle down and take a nap, so we went into the spare bedroom where you and Daniel layed down and got comfy. In no time at all you were sound asleep. It took Daniel a little longer to go to sleep, but not you! You love your naps, thank goodness. Daniel had to leave before you got up, but you had a big time while he was there. So that was a really fun day for you and you got many nice gifts and got to see all of your favorite people.
Then, on Tuesday, you had your official birthday...February 16th. Mommy and Daddy had to go to work that day, but we had a celebration here at our house. You had a huge blueberry cupcake with icing and two candles on it to blow out. We sang happy birthday again and you blew out your candles. You've really got the hang of that now, and you are still singing 'Happy Birthday to You!! It is so cute. That afternoon Mommy and Daddy picked you up early and took you to Toys R Us to spend you birthday money. They said you had so much fun picking out some things that you really liked. You added to your cars and Thomas collection and of course got another ball. That night you picked Chick Fil A as the place to go for your birthday dinner, so Papa Jay and I and you and Mommy and Daddy all went there for dinner. Mommy gave you your choice of Cha Cha's or Chick fil A and you didn't waver one bit....it was Chick Fil A hands down! Boy can you put away the chicken nuggets and waffle fries!
So all in all, your birthday was pretty special. And I of course cannot believe you are such a big boy now! You are truly a little person with likes, and preferences and most certainly some specific dislikes. We don't have to guess any more about what you want as you are extremely verbal and can tell us exactly what you want or don't want.
Papa and I are looking forward to the coming year as I am sure it will be a great one. We love you very much.
Love and kisses,
Ama
