Last full day

Hi Baby E...it's Ama.

You are sleeping just now and will probably be waking soon, but I wanted to get a start on this post before you do. You see, this is our last full day to stay with me while Mommy and Daddy are teaching this school year. There may be days during the summer, or nights that I get to stay with you, but today and part of tomorrow mark the end of a time for us that has meant so much to me. You have been staying with me and Papa since your were nearly two months old. And now you are nearly four months old. In that short time you have changed so much and turned from an eating, sleeping, crying newborn into a playful, active little baby boy. Although you are still considered an infant, you are definitely no longer a newborn!

Since the end of last month, you have been turning over on a regular basis. There is no 'staying in one place' for you anymore unless you are strapped in. I don't dare put you anywhere but the floor unless I am sitting right beside you. You definitely would roll and tumble right off. Last post, I had not yet witnessed your tummy turns and back flipovers, but since then you have mastered the skill and there is no keeping you on your back. For as soon as I lay you down on the floor, you are over on your tummy before I can get my camera ready! I have yet to capture 'the turn' on film. By the time August gets here and we are again spending our days together, you will be crawling or scooting or both. You are just so anxious to get up and go. Your little legs are so strong and you love standing up in my lap when I am holding you. In fact, it is sometimes hard for you to sit in my lap because you want to be standing. I predict that you will be walking before you are a year old! Would you slow down please? We would all like for you to stay little and cuddly just a while longer!

You have just been a joy to keep these past two months, and I would not trade this time together for anything. It has been my great pleasure to be your 'nanny' while your mom and dad are working. You will grow so very fast and these days will pass in a flash. You and Austin are the apples of my eye and I cherish whatever times we have together. Keeping you has definitely a labor of love and a blessing for me and Papa.

I am so glad that you will have these next few months with Mom and Dad. They are really looking forward to spending some real quality time with you, and I know you will love being home with them. I'll see you as often as I can without being a pest! After all, this is their time with you to enjoy leisurely mornings and relaxed afternoons and evenings...a well deserved break from the stresses of teaching. You will all benefit from this much needed time together. I know I have cherished mine!

I love you, Sweet Baby E.
Ama
