Hi sweet baby Easton...it's Ama
You are barely over 24 hours old and still in the hospital with Mom and Dad. Hopefully, you will get to go home with them by the middle of the week when Mommy is feeling all better. I want to just sit and hold you and marvel at your perfect little face...your tiny little fingers and toes and those sweet little hands that constantly find their way to your mouth. All in good time, Ama, all in good time.
I just want you to know that your parents are so loved and cared for by soooo many people that they are flocking to the hospital to see you. Yesterday, your whole Waco family was there to see you...Uncle Brady and Auntie Jenn, Uncle Hank and cousin Beth. Then last night Kim and Frank, and Mr. Thurston and his wife came by to get a peak. And I know today that lots of people will be dropping by to see you, mom and dad.
Just so you'll know, we want to be there, but I feel like we should let other people have their chance at seeing you and mom and dad, because we will have plenty of chances to do that when you get home. It makes two less people to add to the confusion up there in the hospital...and so much other stuff goes on that I know it is stressing your mom and dad just a bit. Plus you and mom are trying to get the nursing thing down, and that isn't easy either. They love seeing their friends, tho, and are very anxious to show you off! That is totally okay! We want them ALL to see you. And when you come home, you will be just 10 minutes away from our house! That is going to be amazing. Your papa j can hardly wait to get his hands on you too. He says you weigh as much as the bass on his wall! and are just about as long. You'll learn that fishing is his passion and he can't wait to take you and Austin fishing!
Speaking of Austin, you haven't met him yet, but you will soon. He is your older cousin on your dad's side of the family...Dad has a brother named Kelly and his little boy is about 18mths old. Uncle Kelly, Auntie Jocelyn, and Austin are all coming to see you next month and can hardly wait to spend time here in Texas. Aunt Jocelyn has been teaching Austin how to say Easton and showing him how to give gentle baby kisses on the head or hand instead of giving big Austin huggles. I am hoping that you and Austin will be great friends one day!
Your dad called this morning to say that there is a lot going on at the hospital so we might want to wait to come up until later. It is hard to stay away, but that's okay...our turn is coming soon. We can't wait!
Go easy on Mom and Dad today...they are really tired.
Love you lots.
Ama
