Hi baby E...it's Grandma,
You are such a precious little guy! I can just watch you for hours! You have so many cute little expressions as you lay sleeping or when you are trying to wake up. Those expressions range from little grimaces, to pouts and frowns, to smiles and big grins, all equally precious. It makes me wonder what in the world you are dreaming about. And when you are awake, unless you are hungry and wanting mama, you are content to look around with those big blue eyes and stare at who knows what. The experts say that things are still a blur and that you see best at a distance of 8 inches, but you seem to be 'seeing' things in the distance and just continue to try to make sense of your little world. You like to be up where you can see things...up on shoulders and upright in our arms or lap. And oh, my are you strong. You can hold that little head up so good, although somewhat wobbly still, and your little legs try to stand when we hold you upright. Your little arms just wave around when you are wide awake, and you love your little vibrator chair and crib. You will tolerate the swing, but I don't think it is your first choice for relaxing. Mom says you are getting more tolerant of your diaper and clothes changes and that you don't cry now when you get your little sponge baths. Before too long, you will be able to have a 'real' bath. We'll see how that goes! Baby steps, sweetie, baby steps.
Well, your dad went back to work this week and you and Mom have been enjoying some time together. She took you our to WalMart yesterday, and you slept thru the whole trip. That is the best way to make a trip to WalMart, believe me! Last night when I went over to visit, you were awake a good part of the time and just so content. Mom said it was a pretty good day. I hope that doesn't mean it was a ROUGH night last night. It would be so great if you turned out to be a good sleeper!
We are getting ready for a visit from your cousin Austin. He is flying on an airplane on Friday all the way from Seattle to spend some time with us here in Texas. It will be so much fun to have the two of you together. You won't remember anything about this visit, but he will remember you and will want to give you huggles and baby kisses on the head. Your Auntie Jocelyn and Uncle Kelly can't wait to meet you and spend some time with your mom and dad.
Have a wonderful 18th day today, you and mama.
I love you.
Ama
